The posts run up past the first floor to a second, eaves head plate, giving full height walls upstairs. Oak raised tie trusses leave the room open; they come with gable ends for now.
A single garage door opening (2.4 to 3.5 m wide) or a double one with a central post (each 2.1 to 3.0 m) can go in either end instead of the front, gabled or hipped. Or leave the end open: with a central post, or (on the Standard) with no post and a deeper head plate. Close in the fronts of the bays in step 4 if you want them shut.
Choose my own sizes
Set the overall length (outside of the posts) and the bays share it equally, or set each bay's clear width between the posts and the length follows. Bay 1 is on the left looking at the front. Depth 4.5 to 7.5 m; each bay 2.0 to 3.5 m. The height under the head plates (2.1 m as standard) can go up to 3.0 m for taller vehicles (2.3 m on the PD, to stay under 4 m).

Spaced evenly along the roof and kept clear of the trusses.
Rooflights
Bays are numbered from the left, looking at the front. Rooflights are framed for a standard VELUX MK04 (780 x 980); the windows themselves are by others.
At this roof pitch a dormer would stand above the ridge, so only rooflights are available. A steeper roof brings dormers back.
An end bay under a hipped end takes a rooflight only where it clears the hip.

Fronts of the bays
A closed in bay gets a brick dwarf wall, an oak sole plate, studwork and cladding, like the back wall. Door and window openings can be added to any wall free of charge during the design stage once you have ordered, wherever you need them. They don't change the price, so there's no need to show them here.
