How to use our design tool

Our easy-to-use tool lets you select the style and shape of your truss, change the roof pitch, section sizes and lengths. The configurator will show you the shape live as you make changes and only allow values that are structurally sound, depending on the length of your tie beam.

The tool offers three basic truss styles for you to adapt.

King post truss

King post truss

A classic, triangle shape with a straight vertical post coming from the middle of the tie beam, with diagonal or vertical struts.

Fluted King Post Truss

Fluted King Post Truss

The same classic shape, but with additional detailing to the central post giving it a fluted, or flaired shape. The braces can be curved and offset, or straight.

Queen Post Truss

Queen Post Truss

Two vertical posts and a collar form a square or rectangular shape inside the triangle. Queen Post trusses can be curved or angled without the collar beam and with curved vertical posts.

Step-by-Step...

  1. Select the type of truss type you prefer - King Post, Fluted King Post or Queen Post.

  2. Select the roof pitch, section options, lengths and sizes You can use the sliders, or type the values .

  3. The tool offers a maximum span of 9 metres. However we are able to manufacture larger trusses on request. Need a bespoke size? Simply get in touch

  4. You’ll receive an email with all the details. We will then review your design and contact you with a quotation.

Happy With Your Quote?

If you're ready to go ahead a 50% deposit is payable on placing your order. The balance is payable on completion of manufacture, before the goods are released for delivery.

To order just sign and date the quotation and return it to us at oak@oak-beams.com.

We will contact you to obtain payment by phone or email. Once we have your deposit we will confirm final details and agree a completion date based on current production times.
